Me, Bernice, Dennis, Daddy, Bernice's mom (Shoo Shoo, which is Grandmother in Kikuyu, their tribe's language), and her nephew was there too but he left before the picture.Bernice loved her presents!
Loooove it!When you walk outside their house into their front yard, this is what you see - the Rift Valley! It's absolutely breathtaking!!
After lunch we headed up to Little Lambs to play with the kids and hand out t-shirts. One of Daddy's customers graciously donated about 65 shirts, so we had enough to give each child one new t-shirt. They were so excited! Daddy LOVED playing with the kids and was pretty tempted to take one of them - Faith - home. I'm actually surprised he didn't! We played games and took lots of pictures, and then they sang and danced for us and performed their memory verses.
More to come on Dad's visit!
Before the new t-shirts...This is Sarah - I LOVE HER!!! We're great friends :)Daddy was GREAT with the kids - no surprise there! They loved tickling him, it was so funny to watch!Daddy with the kids after they got their new shirts on! They were so colorful!
Performing their memory verses for usThey'll have new shoes in about 2 weeks! Praise God!Daddy and Dennis became great friends! :)And this is little Faith, who captured Daddy's heart. She was enthralled by his big white hands and his hairy arms (African men don't really have much hair on their arms, so it's interesting to them!) They were precious together while we sat and talked with the director of Little Lambs. Some of the kids with the scarves they sell to raise money for the school.
I am so thankful that God brought him here to see all of this. I think he fell in love with the kids about as much as I have and can now understand why I'm here, which is huge. It is so beautiful to watch God bring lives together and to bring me and my dad closer through this experience.More to come on Dad's visit!
