So Saturday I met with my AIM contact, Jim Harding for a little bit just to discuss what's going on and what I should expect. He worked at RVA for 23 years, so I was so blessed to be with him as he had all sorts of stories and advice to tell me. Apparently a favorite pasttime among the students is to catch flies, tie a piece of hair into a lasso, lasso the fly, and fly it around. I'm going to love Africa...

He also told me all about the ministry opportunities there with both the students and the community. As he talked about the Kenyans and ways to get involved with them, I could hardly sit still and keep myself from jumping out of my chair with excitement... I'm going to love Africa!

Support's coming along - I have about 40% of my finances, praise God! I also bought a new suitcase (Burlington Coat Factory = cheap/good luggage heaven, so I got it for like 1/3 of the original price), so I think I'll practice packing tonight. I'm a little excited... And I get to go look for long skirts this week - so exciting!

I just finished reading Richer by India - an autobiography about a missionary wife in India, and reading her stories and real encounters and being reminded of my ability to share the Gospel is all thrilling - it's slowly but surely reminding me that this is real and, if you can't tell, I'm getting extremely excited... :)
